Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest on Gareth Bale, Denis Cheryshev Rumours

Real Madrid will face a battle to keep hold of their top wing talents this summer after it emerged Gareth Bale was subject of a "world-record" bid from Manchester United, with Liverpool mounting interest in Denis Cheryshev.
It seems Real Madrid won't be willing to let Bale leave their ranks this summer following speculation Manchester United have seen a €140 million (£100 million) offer for the Welshman turned down.

That's according to Spanish radio station Cadena COPE (via ESPN FC), which reported that Benitez would like to see Bale take on a more prominent role at the Bernabeu this term.
The Wales international continues to be subject of speculation linking him with a return to the Premier League, despite Real's new boss being eager to see the star remain at his disposal.
The BBC's John Bennett revealed Benitez even made the trip to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium last month, where Bale played a key role in steering Chris Coleman's side to victory over Belgium in their Euro 2016 qualifier:
Bale's first season in Spain was a major success as he netted 22 goals in 44 games across all competitions, but a return of 17 goals in 48 outings last term drew the ire of some Real supporters.
Setting his sights on an even better campaign in 2015-16, Bale is looking to contend with the likes of Barcelona's Neymar, with Bleacher Report's Jonathan Johnson analysing whose prospects look brightest:
Manchester United are one of the clubs to have been most closely associated with Bale since rumours of a potential England return emerged.
AS ESPN FC insist, this week's captures of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Matteo Darmian show the Red Devils mean business this summer, and they are assuredly in the hunt to recruit even bigger targets:
Bale's acquisition has been considered the brain-child of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who would also take some convincing to let the 26-year-old leave the club.
A £100 million move for Bale would break the current world transfer record by some £15 million, and yet that figure doesn't appear sufficient to tempt Real into selling.

Liverpool Register £22 Million Bid for Cheryshev

The Sunday People's Neil Moxley reported that Brendan Rodgers' side have lodged a £22 million offer for Cheryshev's services, adding that it's "likely" Real Madrid will sell their youngster.
Cheryshev hasn't made a first-team appearance for Real Madrid since making his senior debut in a 3-0 Copa del Rey win over Alcoyano in 2012, spending the last two seasons on loan at Sevilla and Villarreal.
Last year's spell at El Madrigal proved to be particularly beneficial for the Russia international, who was voted into La Liga's Breakthrough Team of the Season, per Messi Minutes:
Cheryshev scored four goals and made nine assists in 26 La Liga appearances for Villarreal, only 18 of which were as part of the starting XI.
Having seen his opportunities at the Bernabeu limited up until now, the 24-year-old is open on his future and was recently quoted by Alvaro De La Rosa of Spanish newspaper AS, leaving his fate up to Real:
"My future affects many areas, so it’s not so simple. I need to return to Real Madrid, and they in turn need to decide as to what to do. Once the club has decided, then we have to just take things from there. ... If no major offer comes through, then my first option would be to stay at Villarreal."
Moxley's report mentioned that Real Madrid would prefer a straight cash deal for their winger if they were to sell, with Raheem Sterling's Anfield future likely to have a large influence on his prospective arrival.
In total, Cheryshev made 40 appearances for Villarreal last season and gained valuable experience in the Europa League, enhancing his reputation to the point at which Real may be more comfortable selling.
The forward has two years remaining on his contract with Los Merengues, but Liverpool could offer a better chance of first-team football in a system that would match his skill set.
Former Liverpool boss Benitez may be open to the idea of Cheryshev departing the Spanish capital for his old stomping ground, and the opportunity to make a profit on the Castilla academy graduate may be too good to pass up
